In ajourney to naturally reduce inflammation from Psoriatic Arthritis, I’ve discovered a surprising game-changer: broths!
Over the past few months, I’ve been on a mission: to reduce inflammation naturally, without relying on medication. Living with PsoriaticArthritis has taught me that managing chronic pain requires a holistic approach. While I’ve explored different methods to alleviate my symptoms, I recently stumbled upon a game-changer in my wellness routine: broths!
I know, I know—I'm a bit late to the broth game. But better late than never, right? In my quest for a simpler, nourishing way to support my body, I’ve become obsessed with experimenting in the kitchen. So far, I’ve made two broths, and this week, I’m testing a mushroom and veggie broth that I’m really excited about.
Why Broths?
Broths are packed with nutrients, minerals, and antioxidants, all of which can support gut health and reduce inflammation. They’re also incredibly soothing—there’s something deeply comforting about sipping a warm mug of homemade broth. For me, they’ve become a staple not just for their anti-inflammatory potential but also for how they make me feel—grounded and nourished.
Mushrooms, the star ingredient of my latest broth experiment, are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. I paired them with a variety of veggies to create a nutrient-rich, flavorful base. The process of making it is almost meditative: chopping, simmering, and letting the earthy aroma fill my kitchen.
Adding Intermittent Fasting
I’ve also coupled this new broth obsession with intermittent fasting. My current routine is a 14-hour fast, which feels sustainable while still giving my body a chance to rest and reset. Combining fasting with a nutrient-dense broth feels like the perfect one-two punch for reducing inflammation.
Early Results and Reflections
It’s still early days, but I’m already beginning to see some benefits. My energy feels more balanced, my joints aren’t as stiff in the mornings, and I’ve noticed an overall lightness in my body that I haven’t felt in a while. It’s amazing how small, intentional changes can create ripples of positive impact.
This journey is teaching me that healing doesn’t have to be complicated—it can be as simple as a pot of broth simmering on the stove. Ican’t wait to experiment with new recipes and see how my body continues to respond.
If you’ve been considering incorporating broths into your diet, I highly recommend it! Whether you’re dealing with chronic inflammation or simply want to feel more nourished, it’s such a versatile and rewarding practice. I’d love to hear your favorite recipes or tips if you’ve already been on the broth train!
